RECYCLING
Construction / Demolition
As landfill costs continue to climb and public demand for "greener" construction continues, inquiries into processing of construction and demolition waste began to be explored, and today is a large part of 2nd Season Recycling.
Construction and Demolition waste arrives in various size containers and is off loaded on a concrete pad where it is first sorted for large recoverable metals, cardboard, wood, plastics. Each of these products has a reuse secondary market. These materials are baled and resold. The balance of the material which is usually comprised of smaller pieces of wood, cardboard, paper, gypsum drywall is ground and composted.
Current recovery rate is over 90%, when previously 100% of these materials landed in the landfill.
